Sad News and a New Beginning

I've been keeping something from you...something that has been too hard to share. But now it's time  for me to tell you. I am a private person when it comes to my real life family so my four cats have always served as my blog family, taking the role as my hard-working staff. Their photos were always front and center in my posts. But if you are a long-time follower, you may have noticed that they have gradually disappeared. There is a reason for that. I will be brief because this is hard for me.

Scandinavian Inspired Christmas Mantel

 I'm excited to share my Christmas mantel with you...and this year it has a Scandinavian feel! I have filled it with things that remind me of those countries with cold winter climates...a snowy garland, Nordic print stockings and ribbons, little tin houses and wintery-white birch firewood!

Five Favorite Christmas Tablescapes

One of my favorite things about Christmas is creating a tablescape to celebrate the holidays! And I have discovered something about myself...I love lots of greenery, lots of texture and lots of traditional red and green! Always a good start for me...basic white plates. Then I just add some rustic touches and some sparkle and I'm all set!

DIY Target Dollar Spot Christmas Candles

I'm excited to share my project today because it's a fun little part of the Christmas tablescape I'll be showing you soon! Can you see what direction I am headed? Yes...lots of traditional red and green! And if you know me, you know it was inexpensive! Actually, the final cost of these candles was just over $2.00 each! Woo hoo! And I love the way they turned out!
